- Abstract
The article focuses on a study on anesthetic techniques for preventing pain during prostate biopsy. The anesthetic methods used for the study include seminal vesical-prostatic base blockade, intraprostatic blockade and apical-rectal blockade. The factors predictive of pain are evaluated using multivariate logistic regression. The study concluded that mid and apical biopsies of the prostate are more painful than base biopsies. Additionally, the seminal vesicle-prostatic base blockade is less effective than intraprostatic and apical-rectal blockade.
