- Abstract
The article presents information on the geology and environmental conditions at the al Qarah caves and the al Hasa oasis located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The al Qarah caves are a complex cave system made up of calcareous sandstone, marl and clay. There are many springs at the al Hasa oasis that provide water for date palms, fruits, white, rice, and barley that are grown in this area. The south-west Indian Ocean monsoon results in rainfall over the Arabian Peninsula.
