- Authors
VASHISHTHA, VIPIN M.
- Abstract
The article discusses the legal, ethical and enforcement issues involved in the advertisements of food products for children in India. It cites the advertisements of the food product named Complan, as well as Pediasure by Abbott Nutrition, which are both claimed to be not supported by factual scientific data and in violation of the country's Infant Milk Substitutes (IMS) Act. It suggests the need for the Indian government to enact a law that relate to every aspect of advertising, particularly on food products that are aimed for children.
