- Title
Source identification of sulphate forming salts on sandstones from monuments in Salamanca, Spain—a stable isotope approach.
- Authors
Schleicher, Nina; Hernández, Clemente Recio
- Abstract
The article presents a study which explores the origin of magnesium sulphate during the salt efflorescence episode occurred at Villamayor Sandstone in Salamanca, Spain. It was found that sulphur sources originate from barites, biogenic sulphur, and traffic exhaust. It is noted that isotope of oxygen and sulfur is a good instrument on identifying the origin of salt efflorescences.
