The article reports on studies related to the advancement made in functional connectomics for understanding the working of human brain. Researchers led by Clay Reid, at the Harvard University have developed a method of combining large-scale serial electron microscopy and functional imaging data for relating the structure of neural networks to their function. The researchers used a diamond knife to cut 40 to 50-nanometer thin sections from a block of brain tissue.
