The article examines the laws concerning identification of nonpoint source pollution in the U.S. and the provision of adequate stream flows. Topics discussed include Clean Water Act (CWA's) approach to point source pollution and wetlands loss, the role of the federal government in dealing with both nonpoint source pollution and the adequate stream flows; and the government efforts for preventing water pollution.
