- Abstract
The article presents information about the life and work of Japanese architect and designer Kengo Kuma. Descriptions are given of Kuma's design and construction of a Japanese tea house for a museum in Frankfurt, Germany. Elements of Kuma's work are noted as including immaterial qualities and a lack of structure in buildings bordering on the sacred. Photographic images of Kuma's designs and architecture are included. Further information is provided concerning Kuma's education, career development, and preferred building materials, such as bamboo and wood.
