- Title
Intro/Retrospection on a Provincial Capital: Pietersburg/Polokwane Revisited.
- Authors
Donaldson, Ronnie
- Abstract
The article presents a reflection on a decade's research and personal experience and observations on how the city of Polokwane in South Africa have changed over the years and how urban experts have tried to make sense on a complex period of urban transition. It is observed that the former group areas have not only become spaces of desegregation but also of class-based segregation, and resegregation, over the years of democracy. The level of development has contributed to a stronger housing market and building industry.
