- Abstract
This article examines the myths surrounding the character of Sherlock Holmes. Holmes is generally thought of a scientific detective using up-to-date techniques to solve his mysteries. However, the author contends that Holmes does not use very much science, particularly in the story "The Hound of the Baskervilles," but instead relies upon artistic imagination.
