- Title
Response to Intervention and Reading Difficulties: A Conceptual Model That Includes Reading Recovery.
- Authors
Dunn, Michael
- Abstract
The article provides a conceptual model for response to intervention (RtI) with Reading Recovery (RR) as a first-grade intervention to help define students' possible classification as having a learning disability. It also provides a description of the RtI paradigm and RR's origins and elements. It concludes that the RtI model offers promising benefits to students who struggle with literacy skills, however, it notes that operationalizing the model into practice can also pose challenges.
