- Abstract
An essay is presented related to separation between the design team and the actors' rehearsal process in college theater productions. Topics discussed include examining how self-imposed time constraints for rehearsing scripted plays in the academy reduces artistic collaboration and limits learning opportunities; motivation behind the standard production process; and adapting devising methods to scripted play production while maintaining the traditional roles of actors, designers, and director.
