- Abstract
Onion ‐ peel dendritic structures Classical methods of dendrimer synthesis involve reiteration of a sequence of reactions leading to “uniform” dendrimers. More rare is the preparation of dendrimers constituted from different layers and for which specific reactions can be regioselectively performed inside the structure. In their Full Paper on page 6400 ff., J. P. Majoral et al. propose the design and synthesis of onion ‐ peel dendritic structures for which each layer is different from the others, that form only water and nitrogen as by ‐ products and incorporate up to seven different phosphorus units and the possibility to undergo regioselective reactions within the cascade structure as illustrated by the complexation of AuI.
