- Abstract
The Institute for Capacity Building (ICB) and the Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute (FDPRI) found that there is a notable gap in institutions' readiness to drive transformative change on campus. Early lessons from the UNCF® Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) ICB and FDPRI generated insights that indicate overall institutional health is as core to student success as student experience. This chapter provides an overview of how to scale student success initiatives that address institutional core functioning and focus on producing career‐ready graduates. Through this use of culturally relevant research practices, this chapter highlights the necessity of a culturally relevant approach in creating equity‐centered student success interventions and shifting institutional culture, while maintaining mission‐aligned practices.
