- Abstract
Roots of Nepeta multifida L. (Schizonepeta multifida (L.) Briq.; Lamiaceae) contained 15 observed compounds including two new rosmarinic acid glycosides 1 and 2. UV and NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry showed that the new compounds were rosmarinic acid 3,3′-di-O-methyl ether 4′-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (nepetamultin C, 1) and rosmarinic acid 3′-O-methyl ether 4′-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (nepetamultin D, 2). Both compounds possessed antiradical activity against DPPH· and superoxide radicals.
