- Authors
Cunningham, Clifford J.
- Abstract
The article discusses the theories of astronomers Christoph Rothmann and Tycho Brahe about the solar system during the 1583s. It explores the two astronomer's respective concept of the solar system, and relates the role of Latin poet George Buchanan who used astronomy in creating poems through his book "De Sphera," and relates his oppositions to the concept of Brahe. It notes that despite the disagreement of Buchanan to Tycho's theories, they were both anti-Copernican.
