- Abstract
Napster, VTT, Linux, so many ideas coming from consumers, called lead users by von Hippel. Often forgotten in French research, lead users are important in innovation development. Who are they? How can we identify them? Are they different from opinion leaders? Through studies, in France, and in the USA, this paper aims to answer these questions. Propositions can then be developed to bring users into the innovation process, from idea generation to market diffusion.
