- Abstract
With the acceleration of the globalization process since the beginning of the 1990s, international migration movements have increased. The fact that most of the international migrations are done for economic reasons, rises the importance of international labor migrations. In recent years, international labor migration which has gained intensity depending on many factors results in economic, social and political effects on the countries that are a side of international labor migrations. Because individuals aren’t able to find the opportunity to work in their countries or being employed under bad working conditions, result in international labor migration. Labor migration can cause positive and negative effects on both main and target countries economies. As a result of international migrations, while unemployment rate decreases with a decline in population, wage levels can increase in the source country. Besides, foreign currency inflow to the country can be achieved thanks to the remittances. While the economic growth increases with growing population in source country, wage levels can drop with the decreasing need for labor.
