The Etruscan inscription on the bronze weight from Cerveteri (ET Cr 4.22), first published by Mauro Cristofani in 1996, is not easy to read, because some areas of its surface are heavily corroded. Three main au‑ toptic readings have been proposed since now, but all the published apographs are little more than sketches. The need for an adequate drawing of this inscription has brought to an entirely new reading of about one third of it.
