- Title
A SURVEY OF THE URANIUM CONTENT OF VEGETATION IN GREAT BRITAIN.
- Authors
DEAN, M. H.
- Abstract
The article discusses the distribution of uranium concentration in vegetation from ground unaffected by the presence of uranium deposits, by comparison with which samples from future surveys can be evaluated. It is suggested that interest has grown in the analysis of plants as an instrument for prospecting wherein success has been established using deep-rooted trees in searching for uranium that can be found in narrow lodes beneath soil of unexceptional uranium content. It is inferred that pine has been widely used because of its ability to concentrate uranium and its ubiquity.
