- Title
Rubber dam isolation for Class V composite resin or glass ionomer restorations.
- Authors
Brackett, William W.; Rashid, Robert G.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of rubber dam technique in the treatments for Class V carious lesions and for cervical erosion lesions. The rubber dam is considered to be an effective method of excluding contaminants, and many dental schools and textbooks of operative dentistry have advocated the use of this technique for restorations with tooth-colored materials. Using this technique, the exclusion of contaminants from the tooth structure permits the restoration to attain maximal adhesion and to resist secondary caries optimally.
