The Use of a Flexible Material to Negotiate Mandibular Bilateral Undercuts.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses the technique by which bilateral undercuts can be used to enhance steadiness and retention of mandibular denture. As stated, this technique demands putting and processing the denture so that lingual flange can be put properly to a finishing line. The complete wax-up is cemented to master cast and the waxed denture is placed with half-stone-half plaster mixture in flask and diluted watery solution of soda silicate is used as separating medium. The teeth and wax pattern are enclosed with an insulating paste and the moist asbestos sheet is adapted to lingual undercut of the master cast which prevents acrylic resin from bonding into undercuts. The dental base resin is packed and the lingual border of denture are trimmed to provide finishing line for resilient material.
