The article presents a case study of a 22-month-old baby boy was admitted to the hospital due to thrombocytopenia.. He was diagnosed with Bernard-Soulier syndrome, an autosomal recessive inherited platelet disorder characterized by giant platelets, bleeding diathesis and thrombocytopenia. The treatment of thrombocytopenia in an outpatient setting is discussed.
