- Abstract
The authors reflect on the implementation of advanced practice nursing (APN) in Latin America and the Caribbean. Topics discussed include the benefit of the role of APN in other countries such as user satisfaction and cost reduction for governments, implication of the confusion of roles between specialist nurses with extensive clinical experience, nurses with academic backgrounds in their specialty and APN with a master's degree, and importance of government support to APN implementation.
