Israel's Long Road to Recovery.
- Authors
Rotenberg, Mark
- Abstract
The article reports on the implications of the peace treaty signed by Israel with Egypt in March 1979 toward the economic development of their country. The peace treaty is expected to have immediate results in Israel that include the relocation of two major airfields, deployment of troops, and the loss of several oil fields. The development of several economic ties with Egypt will benefit both countries but agricultural development may emerge as important basis for their cooperation.
