- Abstract
The article explores the operations for autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) technology for performing mine countermeasure (MCM) exploratory operations. It describes the improvements in AUV from previous unmodeled characteristics on factors including mine detection, side-scan sonar and remote mine-hunting system (RMS) developed by the Defence Research and Development Canada-Atlantic. The article also discusses the two key metrics to measure efficiency and effectiveness of AUS operations.
