- Title
Action required for safer IV infusions.
- Abstract
The article reports that hospitals in Great Britain are being advised to remove sodium chloride 0.18% with glucose 4% intravenous infusions from areas that treat children to reduce the risk of hyponatraemia in children. It mentions that the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) recommends that the National Health Service (NHS) and independent sector organizations in England and Wales should restrict availability of such infusions to critical care and specialist wards.
