- Abstract
The article reports on the initiation of a pilot project intended to accelerate preparation of teachers for the trainable mentally retarded by means of a cooperative agreement between the Division of Mental Retardation of the Department of Mental Health and the Division of Special Education of Illinois State University in Illinois. To stimulate the interest of students toward preparing to teach the trainable retarded is the primary objective of the project. The responsibilities of Harry Little of Illinois State University as project coordinator are to counsel students and to develop curriculum in the teacher preparation program.
