- Abstract
Recent studies show that laparoscopic right hemicolectomy with intracorporeal anastomosis has advantages, namely oncological survival [1], lower risk of incisional hernia [2] and shorter hospitalization [3], despite a greater technical complexity [4]. We present the case of a 66-year-old female patient previously hysterectomized by laparotomy, with a diagnosis of caecal adenocarcinoma, scheduled for laparoscopic right hemicolectomy. Can laparoscopic surgery prevent incisional hernia in patients with Crohn's disease: a comparison study of 750 patients undergoing open and laparoscopic bowel resection.
