- Abstract
The article presents the case of a 24 year old woman with intractable seizures due to epilepsy who wants to know if surgery is a good option for her. It is reported that the patient does not have an anatomical lesion. A description of her seizures and her medical history is discussed. The results of her diagnostic studies which include a routine electroencephalogram, magnetoencephalogram, and inpatient electroencephalogram telemetry are presented. The patient's viewpoint and questions for the doctors are also presented. The surgical and nonsurgical treatment options and complications are explained. A list of classes for surgical outcomes from the Engel and International League Against Epilepsy classification systems is also included.
