- Title
Inside Out: A Prisoner's Perspective on Prison.
- Authors
Cupe, Cynthia
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on prison life and the negative attitudes people have toward those in prison. The author recalls how an argument with a woman resulted to her imprisonment. She mentions that she was sentenced 30 years in prison after proven to be guilty of murder. She states the harassment she suffers from prison guards and unavailability of medication when she is not feeling well. She discusses the death of her co-prisoners due to inaccessibility for medication. The author adds that inhumane treatment suffered by criminals inside prison was the reason in committing more detestable crimes after being released.
