- Authors
Flores, Alfredo
- Abstract
The article reports on a study conducted by U.S. Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientists in Byron, Georgia which tested fire gels that protect the beneficial nematode Steinernema carpocapsae from the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays and heat. This fire gel being tested by the scientists is the same type that has been used to help prevent the spread of fire to residential and commercial structures. According to the scientists, the barrier created by the gel could serve as a moisture blanket for nematodes. Details of the findings are provided.
