- Abstract
Comment & Response B To the Editor b A recent Research Letter[1] concluded that the risk of hospitalization or death was lower for Omicron variant cases compared with Delta variant cases. Moreover, Omicron's origin, superior transmissibility, and ability to evade immunity due to mutated spike protein are also noteworthy. Although the conclusion that Omicron was significantly less virulent than Delta remains credible, more research is needed to monitor the long-term consequences and long-term developmental tendencies of Omicron infection.
