- Abstract
We present results of the study whose objective was to determine the evolution of the cognitive style under three types of intervention: multimodal treatment, psychological treatment and pharmacological treatment, together with a group without any type of treatment; In children with ADHD attending the Children's Hospital of Manizales. A quantitative research with quasiexperimental design was carried out through simple chronological series. The sample is made up of 40 children, segmented into 4 groups of 10 participants, diagnosed with ADHD between 7 and 11 years of age. To measure cognitive style, the Masked Figures test for children by Witkin, Oltman, Raskin and Karp is used. The analysis of the variable is performed through the SPSS-21 statistical processing software, taking as a independent variable the treatment used in the intervention of each of the groups. As a result, when comparing the percentage difference of the cognitive style between the pre-treatment and post-treatment phases, it is observed that the multimodal treatment is the one with the greatest advance with 95.9%, then the psychological treatment with 85.2% and lastly Pharmacological treatment with 35.1%. While the group without treatment had a decrease of 9.8%. The results confirm that it is possible the evolution of the cognitive style towards the field independence the more integral the intervention.
