- Abstract
The article offers information on how to compose melodies through harmonic movement. It states that the creation and organization of melodies involve tone construction that is necessary in musical improvisation. It also defines basic non-chord or non-harmonic tones including successive passing tones, auxiliary tones, echappee or escape tones and appoggiatura tones. Moreover, musical notations which shows the characteristics of chords and harmonic structures were discussed.
