- Abstract
The nonclassical heteropolyoxotungstate [P3W6(O2)6(OH)2O22]7– has been successfully synthesized and characterized well by various techniques such as FT‐IR, UV/Vis, TGA, as well as elemental analysis. The single‐crystal X‐ray analysis reveals that the two {PW3(O2)3(OH)O9} subunits are linked together through a {PO4} group, forming a nonclassical type of phosphotungstate polyanionic framework. Furthermore, the solution behaviour of the title compound has been investigated by UV/Vis spectroscopy, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry and 31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The structure of compound 1 consists of two similar {P2W3(O2)3(OH)O13} subunits connected through a {PO4} group, forming a hourglass‐shaped architecture head‐to‐head. In addition, the solution behavior of 1 has also been investigated by UV/Vis, ESI‐MS and 31P NMR spectroscopy.
