- Abstract
This article focuses on basic research in progressive glomerulopathies. The role of fibrosing factors in IgA nephropathy and diabetic nephropathy. Renal fibrosis/sclerosis is the common final pathway leading to end-stage renal failure. The renal fibrosis/ sclerosis is characterized by increased proliferation of fibroblasts and excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix. These mast cells might induce fibrosis and activate angiotensin II. Tubulointerstitial injury was caused by diseases that initially affect the glomeruli or renal vasculatures.
