The article provides information on a 10.54 carat (ct) transparent, colorless, square modified step cut with a slightly convex table examined at the Gemological Center in Asheville, North Carolina. Topics discussed include a transparent yellow angular crystal observed of what appeared to be monazite, reason that laser Raman microspectrometry was not able to identify the inclusion, and the higher refractive index of the inclusion than the surrounding host quartz.
