- Abstract
The article presents a study on the conditions of chromium (Cr)-pyrope, Cr-oxides, and chromespinelides formation in the carbonate-bearing model system based on MgO-Al2O 3-SiO2-Cr2O3 (MASCr) system. It investigates the composition of various garnet crystals using Camebax Micro microprobe, DRON-3 diffractometer, and scanning electron microscope LEO-420. The effect of pressure to the composition of crystals during formation is discussed. It also investigates the different formation and composition of crystals related to diamond formation under mantel conditions with association of fluids and melts, and dry such as the MASCr system.
