- Abstract
The article presents a case study of an eight-year-old girl with double outlet right ventricle presented with marked pleural effusion on postoperative day 14 following a Fontan procedure. The patient underwent echocardiography which reported antegrade blood flow from the right ventricle into the pulmonary artery. An Amplatzer muscular ventricular septal defect (VSD) occluder was deployed to the pulmonary valve of the patient for the transcatheter closure of antegrade pulmonary blood flow.
