- Title
Chapter 4. 'Proceedings in Parliament against Dr Henry Sacheverell'; Beinecke Library, Osborn MS C171: Commonplace Book (1679-1710), 15-28.
- Abstract
The article discusses and presents manuscript notes on the 1710 impeachment trial of English High Church clergyman and politician Henry Sacheverell featured in a commonplace book covering the years 1679 to 1710 held at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. It comments on the non-partisan nature of the account and argues that it was probably intended as a supplement to an official account of the trial published by bookseller Jacob Tonson.
