- Title
Secularity without Secularism: The Best Political Position for Contemporary Jews.
- Authors
Novak, David
- Abstract
This essay reports on secularity without secularism as the best political position for contemporary Jews. Modern secularity enables the Jews to become full and equal participants in the secular societies. Secularity is the method used by a society that does not look to any particular religious tradition for the validation of its political authority. Radical secularity looks to secularism for its primary justification while moderate secularity respects the prior religious commitments of its members that enable them to live in a secular society in good faith.
