- Abstract
This article discusses how science teachers collaboratively taught a high school physics unit using model-based inquiry (MBI). It presents a case study wherein students are asked to develop a model that describes buoyancy. It describes the three components of a multidirectional cycle involving MBI: modeling, focused inquiry, and iterations. The article indicates the need of students to identify an effective mechanism for testing buoyant forces.
