- Abstract
A mentor is an important component of the graduate school experience. However, not all mentors are the same or embrace similar philosophies on how to perform this role. For graduate students in art education who seek future roles in academia, a strong mentor can be an important guide and role model. In this essay, three university mentors discuss how they combine their research, instructional, and service requirements into a single endeavor and help shape the present and future of the field.
