- Abstract
The article focuses on differences in reporting between U.S. and Chinese newspapers in regards to a 2008 tainted milk scandal involving Chinese dairy farm Sanlu Group. The authors analyze the coverage of the news story in Chinese newspaper "The Economic Daily" and American newspaper "The Wall Street Journal." They present their findings, including that the U.S. newspaper issued more stories than its Chinese counterpart, that the Chinese press did not acknowledge the scandal until several months had passed, and that the Chinese news stories lacked facts and explanations.
