Abstract
The author reflects on the issue of freedom-of-information laws in the U.S. The author is critical on the publicity of the controversial e-mail of American climatologist Michael Pann and the access of American Tradition Institute (ATI) to the e-mail. Moreover, the author offers views to the action of the University of Virginia in rectifying the Pann's e-mail and notes the importance of privacy of research practices and academic works.
