- Abstract
This article discusses the occurrence of central venous stenosis (CVS) in patients with hemodialysis arteriovenous (AV) fistulas. CVS can develop as a result of various medical procedures, such as the insertion of central lines, catheters, and pacemaker wires. The article explains that CVS can be diagnosed through clinical and imaging findings, such as ultrasound and venography. Treatment options for CVS include percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty and stent placement. The article also mentions that in severe cases, occlusion of the functioning vascular access may be necessary.
