- Abstract
Dr. Bjarni K. Kristjánsson is a Professor at Hólar University in Iceland with over 25 years of experience in evolutionary ecology and limnology. He has conducted extensive research on factors that shape biological diversity, particularly in groundwater-fed systems in Iceland. His work includes the discovery of new species of groundwater amphipods and studying invertebrate communities in springs and lakes. Dr. Kristjánsson has also focused on the intraspecific diversity of threespine stickleback and Arctic charr, using field monitoring and laboratory experiments to study evolutionary changes over time. He has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters and has served as an editor for various publications.
