- Abstract
At the cost of many deaths and suffering, the Covid-19 pandemic is opening up the contradictions and the degree of degradation that is leading to necrosis in our society. What this article seeks to show is that the pandemic is not a natural accident or an unpredictable outbreak, but the result of a system that has reached the most absurd limits of destruction and lethality. Contrary to the theories that preach a "new normal" and the revitalization of the current forms of life, here, presents the necessity to make profound changes that can overcome the current mode of production and reproduction, potentiating the struggles that contribute to the construction of a new civilization. By focusing on the particularly calamitous situation that hit Brazil in the wake of catastrophic ultraneoliberalism, ways are pointed out not only to resist, but mainly to face barbarism and lay the groundwork for a new project for society.
