- Abstract
This paper describes research findings in terms of the meanings teens, parents and teachers from schools in Medellín, Colombia identify associated to issues, risks, opportunities and mediations related to the use of internet. In conjunction with Kids online Latin-American team (Latamko), a qualitative research method was concerted. Results highlight the existing tensions between the meanings of opportunity and risk regarding Internet use. The enquiry about parents' and teachers' mediation revealed that the ascribed heterogeneity and the digital divide between adults and youth has limited the better used of ICT. As conclusion, it is addressed teens' perception about parents' and teachers' behaviour who find themselves in the predicament of preventing and motivating the use of ICT to learn.
