- Abstract
The authors discuss the results of their study on the lessons learned in treating patients with neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome using first rib resection and scalenectomy (FRRS) for a decade. They found that patients treated in the second 5-year period were younger and have shorter length of symptoms. Narcotic use also decreased to 23.8% from 31.5%. Improved symptoms after FFRS increased from 89% in the first 5-year period to 92.8%.
